Taking Action

How can you take action when you don't feel like it? How can you move closer toward your goals when maybe it doesn't seem worth it? How can you kick butt on a daily basis?

1. Remove the EGO. The Ego is complicated in nature but in a very simplistic form... It is YOUR false reality. It serves a purpose to protect you and keep you comfortable. Your ego speaks through exaggerated actions. Perfection, procrastination, materialism, self-centered, etc. The ego is great in small amounts. Letting the ego control your actions can become unhealthy. How to move past this? Do things you KNOW will make a positive impact. Take one step regardless of if it's right, regardless of how you feel. Example: I'm going to avoid working out all day (procrastination) because I don't feel like it and I have a large to-do list that isn't done (perfection) and I deserve a break because I work hard anyway (self-centered). VS. I am going to work out for 15 minutes now even though my hair is messy, my kids are in PJs, the house is a wreck, and nothing is done on my list yet, (imperfect action) because I know I will be clear-minded, I will feel better, I will be much happier, and I will be that much closer to my goals. (Growth mindset) 15 minutes of action DAILY in small doses, consistently, will bring you more abundance in ALL areas of your life when you remove the Ego.

  • 15-minute workout

  • 15 minutes of cleaning

  • 15 minutes of following up with business prospects

  • 15 minutes of reading

15 minutes X 5 days a week X 52 weeks in a year = 3,900 minutes/60 = 65 hours per year

2. Which Hat are you wearing? Sometimes we need to compartmentalize our actions. As women, that's a NO-BRAINER! We wear so many hats daily that we could open our own hat store! Seriously though, think about it. How many hats do you wear? When you wear that hat, you are that person. Mom hat=mom. Work hat=work. Relax hat= beach hat. The list goes on right? Each hat we wear also has its own personality, its own identity. That means when we want to take action on something, we need to really focus on the hat we are wearing. So for example...sometimes I wear my work hat because I have things to get done. My work time revolves around Bailey's nap time. I have at least one hour to get as much "income-producing activity" done in that time. Sometimes I get a little extra sometimes I get a little less so I have to really prioritize that time. Sometimes though, my beach feelings of rest and relaxation come in. My scroll social media cap wants to bust in and bring the snacks. Or my OCD hat of cleaning under the kitchen cabinets where no one looks tries to take over and distract me. That is when I need to go back to step one and remove the ego, then look in the mirror and see which hat I'm wearing. Remind me that I only have 1 hour to wear this hat, then I can put on my OCD hat when Bailey is watching TV or my beach hat when she is playing in the sand. Prioritize your hats ladies.

3. Let GO. This one is hard. You can even call it surrender if you will. Some people look at surrender as giving up but really letting go and surrender is a form of trust. When you say you're going to do something, do you trust yourself? If you answered no, then let go. When you have a plan, a dream, a vision, a mission, a goal, a belief, a thought... something that will help you grow... let it go and trust that your small action step today will make tomorrow better. TRUST yourself. YOU ARE WORTH IT and YOU DESERVE IT!
